The magazine VOICES, published once a year, is dedicated to the theoretical reflection of current circus creation. Here, one encounters a gap in Germany above all: There are few (current) German-language texts, hardly any academic research literature and reviews of circus productions in the feuilleton also have great rarity value. The magazine publication takes account of this need to talk, think and exchange. VOICES provides insights into different ways of writing about and reading stagings and circus concepts. Various interdisciplinary and international perspectives on writing, thinking and speaking in and about circus are gathered here.

VOICES III, with its focus on current discourses on circus aesthetics, was published in 2022 as a preview of the workbook "Circus in flux - Contemporary Circus" which was published in cooperation with "Theater der Zeit". The workbook is dedicated to this still young circus form and presents on 176 pages analyses, interviews, comments, extensive photographic material and artistic positions of international and German circus artists.
